How It Works


Basically, this indicator works by identifying two consecutive swing points, labeled L#1 and L#2. It then waits for the price to break the neckline, confirming a valid Double Top or Double Bottom pattern.

The first and most important parameter to configure is DEPTH.


DEPTH determines the minimum swing depth required for a swing point to be considered valid and used as L#1 and L#2.

  • A smaller DEPTH value allows smaller price swings to be recognized as valid swing points.
  • A larger DEPTH value requires more significant price movements before a swing is considered valid.

The default value is 8, which provides a good balance for most market conditions.



RETRACE_POINT and ZONE_RATIO are additional parameters used to validate the pattern.

  • RETRACE_POINT defines the minimum pullback required after L#1 is formed before the pattern can be considered valid.
  • ZONE_RATIO defines the allowable tolerance between L#1 and L#2. Instead of requiring both swing points to be exactly at the same price level, this parameter allows a certain deviation.


Both parameters use a ratio value. For example, a value of 0.1 represents a 10% tolerance.


Pada dasarnya, indikator ini bekerja dengan cara menentukan dua titik swing yang berdekatan, yang diberi label L#1 dan L#2. Setelah itu, indikator akan menunggu harga menembus (breakout) neckline sebagai konfirmasi bahwa pola Double Top atau Double Bottom telah valid terbentuk.

Parameter pertama sekaligus yang paling penting untuk diatur adalah DEPTH.


DEPTH menentukan seberapa dalam atau besar suatu swing agar dapat dianggap sebagai swing yang valid dan digunakan sebagai L#1 maupun L#2.

  • Semakin kecil nilai DEPTH, maka swing yang relatif kecil juga akan dianggap sebagai swing yang valid.
  • Semakin besar nilai DEPTH, maka hanya swing dengan pergerakan harga yang lebih signifikan yang akan dianggap valid.

Nilai default yang direkomendasikan adalah 8, karena sudah cukup seimbang untuk sebagian besar kondisi pasar.



RETRACE_POINT dan ZONE_RATIO merupakan parameter pendukung yang digunakan untuk memvalidasi pola.

  • RETRACE_POINT digunakan untuk menentukan minimal pullback yang harus terjadi setelah L#1 terbentuk agar pola dapat dianggap valid.
  • ZONE_RATIO digunakan sebagai toleransi jarak antara L#1 dan L#2. Dengan demikian, kedua swing tidak harus berada tepat pada level harga yang sama, tetapi masih diperbolehkan memiliki selisih tertentu.


Kedua parameter tersebut menggunakan nilai rasio. Sebagai contoh, nilai 0.1 berarti 10%, sehingga toleransi atau batas validasinya adalah sebesar 10%.
